Go Grandma!

Leave it to my mom to venture where I never have before! This morning she took the triplets to Lowe's for one of their kid-project days. They made little school buses (one of the kids' favorite things) out of wood. I'm sure there weren't too many other two year olds, especially in groups of three. Then she decided to take them into McDonald's, alone, at lunchtime, on a Saturday! Go Grandma! I guess it went okay...they came home with smiles, schoolbuses, and tales of perhaps, some icecream? Allie and I had a quiet morning which ended with a first for her...a grilled cheese sandwhich! She LOVED it! Then before the triplets invaded, I let her do something that all 9 month olds should do! Play in the tupperware drawer! I used to do this when Eli, Cara, and Brady were around her age and it was garaunteed entertainment for at least 20 minutes, followed by garaunteed pick-up for 10. She was thrilled to have such a wonderful place to explore without any 2 year olds grabbing things from her hands and pushing her aside. Look at the joy on her face!

By the way...2 weeks from tonight we will be all set up for our Alex's Lemonade Stand! Can't wait!

Sad Day

My grandma, my mom's mom, passed away suddenly last night. She was my only living grandparent, and quite a character as many of you know. She loved my mom, her grandkids, and her great-grandkids with all her heart. Grandma was loving and an amazingly generous woman. Her husband Bob even told me that she had been out shopping for my kids yesterday. She had just called me last Sunday to scold me that my house was too cold and she worried about my "babies" freezing in "your old, cold house." I guess she was looking at blanket sleepers for them and was mad they only came in infant sizes. She was a worrier, but she was a lot of fun! Mom confided in me that she had shared with her about Brady after we left her house on Christmas Day. Grandma was so sad to hear that there was health problem with him. I wish so much she could have seen him walk someday. That being said, I told mom today that I know Grandma's greatest joy was being at each of our weddings and seeing each of us become parents. She was always there...always. I love you grandma...we'll miss you so very much...
