Seabreeze

We have a very special tradition in my family. Each and every year we spend one of our summer day at Seabreeze Amusement Park in Rochester. As our family changes and grows, we adjust our tradition, but still manage to have a great time.

So off we went yesterday, with 7 adults, two elementary-aged boys, 4 preschoolers, and 2 toddlers! Our day was spent splashing in the water park, waving to smiling kids as they went round and round on rides, and ducking rain showers. It was a GREAT day!

My kids just loved this ride!

The kids thought that these fighter planes were super cool. Not sure how I feel about these pictures of them holding guns:(

Is it my turn yet?

Can you hear me shouting, “Allie, get your hand out of the water!”

Matt and I are always especially struck with emotion on the days like yesterday, when we are doing something that we do once a year. It is so easy to recall the previous years. Two years ago we were at Seabreeze when I was pregnant with Allie. I distinctly remember carrying Brady on and off of the rides since he wasn’t walking. I remember looking at other kids running around and feeling so sad that there was something wrong with our son. Then last year Brady was walking, but was still so cautious, unsure of himself, and afraid of the world around him. He had been through so much and wasn’t quite ready to completely let go and have a ball.

Then there was this year.

I’m so grateful for the daily reminders that God gives us of His great mercy, healing, and love. Reminders in the form of jumps down a step, splashes in the water, giggles with a brother or sister, and gorgeous smiles while riding in a boat. Thank you God for each and every one.

Hooray for Cousins!

I'm beginning to think I packed the summer schedule a little too tight! Baseball Tournament tomorrow, church picnic Sunday, PT Tuesday, Playgroup Wednesday, Scans Thursday, Garage Sale Friday/Saturday...then we have two weeks until Brady Bash! What do you do when you are feeling a little stressed? Call grandma and the cousins over for dinner!

Of course we ordered Santinos and then went on a walk for icecream and a trip to our favorite park. Cousin Aubrey is 5 months older than the triplets, and Natalie is 4 months older than Allie. I LOVE seeing all 6 of them together. We put Allie in the choo choo with the triplets (Matt added the 4th car) and we put the "babies" in the double stroller. Too cute!

Look cousin Aubrey! A bug!

Memorable Memorial Day

Could we have asked for a more beautiful Memorial weekend in western NY? Today we had a great time at Ontario Beach Park in Rochester. We spent some great time with my mom, my brother, and his family. Watching our 6 kids 2 and under is such a trip! We kept saying that they are like a little toddler gang and that we need to come up with a name for them:) I couldn't help but be blessed by the sunshine today and felt like God is using these sunny days to help me see the hope of brighter days ahead for our family! It was truly awesome to see Brady walking around with the rest of the crew. He chased bubbles, he played parachute, he watched Uncle Andy fly a kite, and he just walked all over that park!!!

I just thought of a name...The 6 Pack Gang. Here they are now...left to right Natalie (sleeping in the back of the stroller)

Tomorrow begins our weekly routine. Brady and I will leave at 8:30am for PT. He is too funny...when I asked him where we were going tomorrow he said, "PT with Linda!" I'm so glad he likes going! I have to admit that I really like my 45 minute ride to and from PT too! All that quiet thinking time, what a luxury!

I wanted to share some exciting news! I'm going to be doing some writing for a few blogs in the next few weeks. Today I have an article featured on my new friend Ginny's site called Make a Difference to One. You can read my article by CLICKING HERE and scrolling down.
In the next few weeks I'll be writing an article about Neuroblastoma and advocating for your child's health. I'll share that link when it is up! It's so cool how God opens new doors.
