FINALLY A PHONE CALL!

Just got the call at 8pm from our oncologist...Here is the plan:
1. No results yet from the MIBG scan, hopefully we will have those Monday afternoon.
2. Monday 9:15 Bone scan done under sedation (thank goodness)
3. We will be admitted to the hospital after the scan.
4. Tuesday morning he will have surgery to have the Broviac placed in his chest and an echocardiogram (all done under anesthesia).
5. Sometime Monday/Tues we will be meeting with the oncology team to finalize the treatment plan.
6. Chemo will probably be starting Tuesday night. We will be in the hospital through the weekend.

So it begins. I can't believe this is really going to happen. Please pray for courage, comfort for Brady, and a sense of security for our whole family.

  6. I just wanted to leave a quick note to say that we are with you. My name is Aaron Horn and my son, Eli, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, Stage IV in Iowa City on June 29th, 2007. We left Iowa City (VERY difficult decision) to pursue treatment in NYC at Sloan Kettering and it was absolutely the best decision we could have made. God was truly watching over us in that decision. Eli has done 9 rounds of the 3F8 antibody treatment and has been disease free since the second round (not all kids have the same result). We have been able to avoid the very risky stem cell transplant and feel that some of the best minds in Neuroblastoma research are at Sloan. The Ronald McDonald House in NYC holds 83 families and 80% of those are Neuroblastoma. We have become VERY close to many of these families and share our experiences and learn from each other about the different treatment options available (Sloan has many options and they aren't suck on following a protocol, they will change it if it's not working for your child.) Anyway, I just wanted to throw an intro out there and tell you that you are MORE than welcome to e-mail me with any questions you might have about Sloan. It is very tough at first to be exposed to this world of pediatric cancer and have to make big decisions, but God will be there with you every step of the way.

    In Him,
    Aaron

  8. What a darling little guy Brady is; it sounds like you are taking the very best care of him possible. I know how hard it is to wait on schedules and doctor's phone calls and treatment plans. (Our daughter was diagnosed with NB in 2002) But the plans DO come together and life does go on.

May grace pave your path this week.
