What else should a mother of four do when then temperature soars to a whopping 45 degrees? Throw on the boots and coats and get outside! After lunch today that is just what we did.
This is the first time I have been outside alone with 4, fully mobile children. Last summer/fall Allie was still crawling, so she was pretty easy to contain. The kids are so good about staying with me (with a few dozen reminders) and I used the buddy system to hold hands.
At first we walked on the driveway…big fun when you are 2 1/2 and 1!
All lined up by the garage for a photo shoot! Notice the two on the ends, of course not looking at the camera. It is no secret that Eli and Allie have the shortest attention spans in this house:)
Allie is a officially a “hand me down” girl. She is sporting Cara’s coat from last year, Cara’s outfit from last year, and Cara’s boots from this year (Allie’s don’t fit anymore, and these are about 2 sizes too big!)
Kicking at snow drifts kept them busy for about 20 minutes. It also helped clean off their muddy boots:)
Next stop…THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE! It’s amazing how you can make the dullest things sound fantastically fun to toddlers!
By this point in their journey, they had realized that this house belonged to them, and the following argument ensued, “This is my house! No, it’s my house, not yours! Mommy, tell him it’s not his house!”
All smiles again sitting on the front stoop!
This one is destined to be a classic. I bought two frames a few weeks ago. One of them says “brothers” and the other “sisters,” these pictures will be perfect!
Making shadow monsters, or as Brady called them, “Shadow bad guys!”
After putting her hand in the snow, Cara announced, “Look mommy! A snowman on my finger!”
It was only a 40 minute adventure, but the fresh air and sunshine were just perfect!
Meg,
ReplyDeleteI love the pics. WoW, they have grown. Enjoy the spring!
Love, Deb R.
Beautiful x 4. And I think you are so brave leaving the house solo. I only have two munchkins but I know that they will invariably run in separate directions so I try to always have an extra set of hands on deck if I am leaving the confines of home!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I love watching them grow and love seeing their adventures. Thank you. Prayers continue, have an awesome day!
