Trip Report: Day 7

As we awoke Saturday morning, we knew our dream trip to Disney was coming to an end. It had all happened so fast, but we were full to the brim with wonderful memories.

Our flight wasn’t until 3:45 pm, so we had some time for a little Disney fun before we left! I had made reservations at our resort at 1900 Park Fare. This restaurant offers a character breakfast with Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter. Kind of a weird combo, but this ended up being our favorite place! We give it 4 very enthusiastic stars (****)!

The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a made to order omelet station, delicious pastries, Mickey shaped waffles, fresh fruit, and so much more. The tables here are nicely spaced out, and I have to say, we had a wonderful round table right in the center of the action. The characters here were wonderful and spent a lot of time with the kids.

Here is Eli telling Tigger a story about something!?!

Oh my goodness! Cara was just in her glory at this place. She didn’t even know who Mary Poppins was prior to this day, but she was so taken by her! She flapped her arms in excitement and just couldn’t stop smiling.

She loved Alice in Wonderland just as much!

Allie kept trying to grab Alice’s white apron with her sticky, syrup fingers. Alice was so sweet about it!

Okay, so the Mad Hatter is just weird, and I think he is supposed to be that way. Eli tolerated him for about a minute and then said, “I think you should go see Brady!”

Brady wasn’t too excited about him, so I decided to have my picture taken with him!

Brady had eaten a few too many sticky buns by the end of breakfast and was really silly. When Pooh came around to see him, he pulled his hat over his eyes and started giggling. Pooh played right along and kept pulling his hat up, and Brady would giggle and pull it back down. Silly boy…

We had packed up everything before breakfast, so we had a few hours to spend at the resort before heading to the airport. We went up to the gift shop and picked out a few things for the kids.  Here is Eli trying on some Mickey ears!

We spent some time watching classic Disney cartoons in the lobby. They had adorable little children’s areas.

Finally the time had come to say goodbye to Disney…

goodbye to the Grand Floridian…

and goodbye to the trip of a lifetime.

Our first flight was from Orlando to JFK. Matt, Allie, and I were seated in the very back row of the plane. The big kids were split up and each sat with a grandparent. Allie slept for a little bit on the flight and then just as we were landing, she threw up all over herself and Matt. We were a little frantic about the whole thing…it was a mess…we were on a plane and had limited resources to clean her up…and we had to get to our connection in less than 30 minutes. There were several crew members right behind us and they were so wonderful about the whole thing. I was able to wash her down with alcohol wipes given to me by the crew. I had packed pjs and changed her into those. I texted my mom and told her what gate to go to and just to go ahead and get there since they were seated toward the front. We ended up making it to the gate in time for our connection.

So dear Allie made it through 7 days of planes, limos, vans, monorails, buses, and rides and only threw up once! I know some of you were praying specifically for her little tummy---I certainly think that those prayers made all the difference!

When we got back to Rochester, Make a Wish had a limo and van waiting for us. By the time we arrived back home (at around 10pm), all 4 kids were asleep!

So there you have it. That is the story of Brady’s Make a Wish Trip to Disney World!

I’ve always loved the lyrics to this Disney classic and I think by reading the words to this song you will understand perfectly how much this trip meant to our family~

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true!
