I wanted to share something that I read on another NB warrior's site. I mentioned Eric the other day and ask that you would keep him, his mother Donna, and his whole family in your prayers. I read this amazing quote on his site today and it has been on my mind ever since:
Faith
When you walk to the edge of all the light you have
and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown,
you must believe that one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid for you to stand upon, or,
you will be taught how to fly.
~Patrick Overton
I think of the lives of children with cancer like this; crossing over into the darkness of the unknown. I'm sure Eric feels this way, and has many, many times. I know that when Brady was diagnosed, I left like the light of our lives was ripped from us in a moment. For me, it is a daily struggle to stand upon that solid foundation that only my faith and trust in God can give. It is remarkable to see those who are enduring far worse give us all an example of truly trusting in God's grace and strength.
Stopping by to say hello to Brady and your family. I'm glad to read that he continues to do well. Sean also still has a "spot". He is due for his last scan in March. (NY said he was done, but Boston wanted one more, and that was fine w/me..) Boy, time flies, my trio are already 7yrs. and Scott is 10yrs. So happy to read of a slow week! God Bless, Love, Ellen
