Follow Up Appointment

Brady and I braved the snowy roads this morning and went to see Dr. Korones for our follow up appointment. Dr. Korones was very happy with the scan results and again explained that the remaining "spot" is doing just what it should...nothing. The only thing better would be for it to go away completely, but for now, it is behaving itself! At our last visit, Dr. Korones thought this would be the last 3 month scan interval and that we could now move to 6 months. However, today he told me that he wanted to consult the national protocol for a scanning schedule. He called later this afternoon to tell me that we need to consider April Brady's 1 year post-treatment date since this was the month when he had his last surgery. So, the national protocol recommends doing scans every 3 months until you reach the 1 year post-treatment date. This means we will be doing scans in 3 months:( With one more great 3 month report, we will move to the 6 month schedule. Fine...we can handle that.

Brady is becoming such a brave and tolerant boy. Today he allowed Dr. Korones to check him over without any complaint. Of course the "inside the diaper poking and prodding" made him quite mad, it always has. When it came time for the nurse to weigh and measure him, he hoped right at the scale and smiled. Then he stuck his arm out for his blood pressure. My scared little-lamb has really become quite sure of himself and he is quite able to perceive safe from scary situations.

Our big week is coming to a close and I couldn't be happier. Thank you for all of you who prayed, emailed, texted, called, and just make us feel so lifted up! Another victory for Brady:)
