Can't Contain My Joy

Okay folks, I'm letting you in on some great news, but only after you read the following disclaimer:

What you are about to read is information that we as Brady's parents are not allowed full access to. Yes, believe it or not, as a child's parent, you acutally don't have the right to request that test results be faxed to you before meeting with your doctor. Yes I know, you gave birth to the child, he/she belongs to you, yet someone else gets to know everything days and sometimes weeks before you. That is of course, unless you happen to be a very clever parent who also is in a medical field that could very well be related to your son's diagnosis. In that case you can call using your professional title and get the report faxed directly to your office.

My heart is overflowing with joy and relief that Brady's scans show no new tumor growth in the spine. The tumor is still there (darn---I'm still asking God everyday to just obliterate that thing!) but it hasn't changed since the last scan. The other areas scanned all looked clear. There was an area that the radiologist remarked about in the lung, but probably this is some sort of surgical involvement like scar tissue.

We are still waiting on the catecholamine results. This is the urine marker that if elevated would indicate that there is active neuroblastoma somewhere in Brady's body. If that is elevated, then there is a chance that there are new NB areas somewhere else in Brady's body. We will have those results when we meet with the doctor on Thursday.

So, we breathe a HUGE sigh of relief as we praise God for this wonderful news!

Psalm 66:19
but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
