Just Pray

I would be lying to you all if I wrote tonight and told you all of my postive outlook, my sense of peace about this whole thing...So, I'm keeping it real here. I feel sad, sad from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I feel scared, scared beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I feel torn, torn between my home, my family and the hosptial and the battle ahead. I always said that when Allie was born, just 3 months ago, that my heart now was made up of 4 pieces. One of the pieces of my heart is sick, and I hate the fact that I can't just pick him up and make it better.

That is the real me right now. That being said, a good friend told me today that despite all the bad that surrounds us right now, God's promises for us don't change! God didn't tell me when I had my precious children, "Here you go, you'll never have any problems from here on out...have a good life!" That isn't one of God's promises to me, or anyone. I think we all just come to expect that because for the most part, life is good. What I do know, and one of the only things that is comforting me right now, is God's promise to never leave me, or forsake me. He is here with me, with Brady...I need to just continually pray, seeking Him, giving it all to Him, asking Him for the courage to get through.

The MOST important thing anyone can do for Brady is PRAY!!! We pray for small things like safe travel, help with each procedure, guidance for the doctors. We pray for HUGE things, like total healing for Brady. Please join us in praying for Brady...

  1. Megan and Matt,
Your precious little boy and the trials you are facing was brought to my attention by my girls who were in high school with you. As a mother and now a grandma my heart breaks for you. You are so correct when you say God does not say "have a good life". God is always there for us during any trial that comes our way. Lean on Him. Cast all your cares on Him. He will carry you through. Today I asked for prayer for Brady at our church. Please know that he and your family are being lifted up in prayer for the many things you all have to face this week.

  2. I don't know whether you've been directed there yet but it might help you to read Sarah Smith's blog - she was diagnosed with Nueroblastoma when she was six and is now a happy healthy 13 year old...

  3. Megan and Matt,
My thoughts are with you as you start your journey over the mountain tomorrow. I want you to know that my church is praying for Brady and your family. Need lunch brought up to the hospital? Need my husband to shovel your driveway? I really want to help in any way I can. Please pass my number on to those who will be home taking take of your other babies, anything I can do to help make this easier for them as well. 297-8082

  8. Megan,
Will continue to pray for Brady (and you, Matt, and the rest of the family), as are many at Northgate. Personally, I've been praying for you that your faith will remain strong and you will be comforted by God as you go through all this. I can see from your post that even though this is so tough, God is answering my prayers!

    Hugs and blessings,
    Stephanie

  9. Just found you through Sarah Smith's site and read your entire blog.

I will be praying for wisdom, clarity, and peace for you all.

Have you ever followed Jacob Duckworth's site, or his mom's site - Faithfulfroggers.blogspot.com. She, too, is a triplet mom who had one triplet with cancer.

Stay strong and know that you are being prayed for.
